The client

SCHOTT is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of speciality glass, glass ceramics and other high-tech materials. In 1884, the pioneering founder Otto Schott paved the way for modern-day glass engineering with his discovery of the first speciality glass. This technology group now employs some 17,100 people at 30 sites across the globe, with pioneering spirit and a passion for innovation being key hallmarks of the company.

The challenge

To mark Earth Day on 22 April 2023, SCHOTT set itself the goal of communicating the aspects of its speciality glass products that enable a more sustainable lifestyle.

The challenge surrounding this goal lay in raising public awareness of the fact that glass is a versatile material for myriad areas of application and that it can substantially reduce our environmental footprint.

The solution

The Statista Content & Design team produced informative content, based on these terms of reference, that was tailored to the various SCHOTT communication channels. The company published this content on its social media channels and in its online magazine.

The execution

The editorial and graphic design team at Statista Content & Design developed five monothematic infographics exploring sustainable glass solutions in five key areas of daily life.

SCHOTT rounded these off to perfection with profiles of its own green products. The company began publishing its series of infographics on Earth Day.

Using the infographics, SCHOTT made a clear statement about the sustainability of its speciality glass, generating a buzz for its products and technological innovations among the desired target group of customers, potential customers, media companies and the general public.
