Peat-free gardening

Author: Sandra Fischer
Date: March 11, 2021

Marshlands play a major role for the climate and biodiversity and store a large portion of the world’s carbon. There is no doubt that they should be preserved. Yet peat is often extracted from marshlands for use in conventional potting soil. Gardening enthusiasts are paying increasing attention to sustainability, as shown in this infographic “Peat-free gardening” created for our customer Toom. Most amateur gardeners say, for example, that it is (very) important for them to consider environmental factors when buying potting or gardening soil. They rate peat-free soil to be just as good, if not better.

Gardening season is upon us again! Enjoy!
